about Azitra

News & Observer
"Azitra wastes no time in setting itself apart from the dozens of other restaurants that have sprung up in the new Brier Creek Commons. An entry hallway sparkling with light from chic, multicolored glass sconces greets guests, evoking the mood of a trendy night club or a fashion runway." click here for full story

"Azitra has a very warm and inviting upscale decor that is well complimented by the outstanding service. I've been eating Northern and Southern Indian food for about 2 decades (both home-cooked and restaurant-made): Azitra is in the top 80% of my experiences. Their spicing is excellent and the heat level is kept to a low perfect for most American palates- I get mine Indian hot and it's much better. I've been to Azitra several times, both for lunch and dinner, and everyone who was with me loved it."

"The kitchen's pride and joy is a giant Tandoori to cook most meats and breads. And Azitra's breads are outstanding, particularly the garlic and parsley sprinkled naan. The familiar Indian entres were enjoyable, but appetizers-soups and spinach pakora-were the standouts. Don't forget to save room for dessert. The Azitra Special (carrot pudding with homemade mango ice cream) and Kheer (rice pudding flavored with rose water) are especially satisfying."
